What’s the Best Possible Outcome? A Quick Exercise in Dealing with Negative Thoughts

I’ve been trying something new lately. I have caught myself so many times recently fuming in my quiet moments over unfairness done to or around me, and it is toxic.

I realized that these thoughts are natural and they WILL happen, but I have control over what happens next. I have been actively on the lookout for these moments, and replacing the negative thoughts with ideas of what I want in my life a year from now, or just in the future at large. It’s incredibly refreshing to shift my focus and shift my energy, and I have noted that ideas and creativity flow more freely when I work on this. I call it “tending my Secret Garden” (lol I know it’s corny).

Anyone who has had a Reiki session with me knows that I teach a version of the Secret Garden meditation where I guide my client through a peaceful landscape that ultimately leads to their Spirit Guide. That landscape is the visualization of their soul, their dreams, all of the positive and beautiful things they hold dear to themselves, and once visualized, it is always there to be used later as a tool to remind ourselves what we treasure and what our minds are capable of creating—beauty, love, and peace ☮️.

Essentially, the idea of the Secret Garden is to simultaneously discover in yourself what you hold most dear, who you want to be, and that you have the power to change your own emotional landscape for the better. Whatever you imagine determines the conditions of the path you walk to that destiny—whether you make the sun shine or the thunder boom in the Secret Garden is up to you.

Rise

I encountered this post this weekend, shared by a Facebook group that I follow (Universal States of Consciousness). As it turns out, it was good advice I didn’t know I would need yet.

I often tell myself something similar, to not let myself be swept up in the chaos of others, and to focus on my own path. When I find myself in a position to offer solace to another for a wrong done by some human party, I also say something similar: “it says more about them than it does about you.”

The way people treat us—it’s a reflection of their personality, their values, their moral code, what they hold to be important. It is not a reflection of who we are, or what we care about.

What reflects on us is how we absorb or deflect it—essentially, how we react to the stimulus.

If you agree with the person offering you feedback and you think you should change, accept it with grace and go forth and change to your greatest potential.

Otherwise, just let it reflect off of you back to them. Remind yourself of your focus, what you’re proud of, what YOU choose in this life, and keep choosing it. Never let someone else’s unresolved burdens pull you down.

Rise above the unreal opinions of others. Flick your light on so you can’t see the shadows around you, and blaze a trail forward, doing what YOU know is right and authentic for you. Fall in love with the authenticity and deep kindnesses of your life, and remember in the end that only love is real.

Mise en Place: the True Secret to the Law of Attraction

Need a card today? Lately I’ve been using an old Angel oracle deck that I love. This card I love in particular because a) the message is outstanding, reminding us to put positive energy into our lives and see it returned, and b) because of the beautiful little animals all over it. When it comes to the Law of Attraction, I always like to tell my more skeptical clients “throw a rock, you hear a splash.”

The Law of Attraction is really about setting the stage in your life for the good things to happen, making a plan, putting your energy toward your goals as much as possible, and the universe standing in your corner, ready to assist.

The French have a phrase for having all of your ingredients ready when you’re cooking: mise en place, which essentially means you have everything organized before you start cooking: it’s prep!

SuperBowl 54: Justice of the Chiefs?

So I decided to try my hand at #SuperBowl2020 predictions. Let’s see how this plays out. So for the #kansascitychiefs, we have the Justice card. That means a fair and balanced game will be played from their side, and this is a major arcane card, which trumps the card we pulled for the 49ers. This is a hard game though, I can already see that coming, and there will likely be a major tie for awhile, judging by the 2 of Swords coming up as a clarifier. For the #sanfrancisco49ers, we have the 6 of Swords. This is a card of “moving on to better things,” and a card of healing. It could be seen as a story of healing graduation for this team, and therefore a potential win. I think this will be a hard fought game throughout and that ultimately the Chiefs will take it—but take that with a grain of salt since if I was good at sports predictions, I’d probably be anonymously rich in a tropical climate somewhere 😂. #super bowl prediction #psychicmedium #psychicsofinstagram #6ofswords #justicetarotcard #tarotreadersofinstagram

Medium So Large: My Plus Size Psychic Struggles

I redrafted my diet today to shave some calories off my daily intake as well as this face. This week I’ve also begun going to bed earlier so I can do yoga and write in the mornings. I’m going to try to keep myself honest and if you’re interested in seeing such a journey, I’ll be sharing pictures and maybe some short video journals with you here and on FB (@soulunfold), and Insta (@soul_unfold_tarot).

I’m currently on a 1200 calorie diet (when I don’t cheat) and an hour of yoga a day. Is It Just My Imagination, Or Did I Just Channel Gene Wilder?

A few minutes ago, I was sad because I just read an article about how when Gene Wilder passed away (it was 3 years ago but I just saw it), his favorite song came on with his final breath. I was so entranced with him as a child.

There’s a random movie on Netflix playing right now, called Hit & Run, and all of a sudden, I hear the refrain from Pure Imagination come from the movie.

Spirit Echoes: Light as a Feather

I don’t know how many of you truly believe in the Other Side. Every day, I’m blessed enough to experience the truth of life after death—even in small ways. And that’s available to everyone. I can teach you how.

Today, driving to a Dunkin Donuts drive thru line no less, I was having a moment. A low, self-questioning, self-effacing moment. You know the kind. And so I put my music player on…

And I earnestly asked if my main spirit guide would step forward and offer me a message in the next song.

And they did.

Setting Boundaries as an Empath

This one is simple. When you begin to feel strong empathy for someone and feel their energies seeping over into yours (feeling their pain, “knowing” what they’re going through at a spiritual level), say “This is not mine. Namaste.” This means “the light within me sees the light within you, but your energy is your energy and mine is mine.” If you prefer, this can be your chant, whichever one works for you. This is a good practice for maintaining good energy hygiene and keeping others from sapping your energetic strength. #freemeditation #mindfulnessmeditation

Setting the Intention to Live in the Now

“I have made my plans and set my limits. I will now release thoughts of the future and just be.”

Settle yourself in a bath with lavender Epsom salts. Repeat the above intention to yourself as you breathe in through your nose and out through the mouth. Stop when you feel the intention has anchored within you. When you feel thoughts of the future creeping in later, as they will, start breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth and repeat “Just be.” If you can, have the scent of lavender nearby to take you back to the meditation in the bath and you will instantly start to calm.
